◇Fukuoka Softbank vs Chiba Lotte Marines 22nd Round (12th, MIZUHO PayPay Dome)

Fukuoka Softbank's Kensuke Kondo recorded his 27th 2-run home run. He surpassed his 2023 total of 26, setting a new career high.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning with a 1-point lead and a runner on first with no outs, he entered the batter's box. On a 1-1 count, he perfectly caught a breaking ball from the opposing starter, pitcher Kazuya Ojima. The hit flew next to the center fielder's batter's eye, becoming a home run that added to the lead.

Also in this game, Ryoya Kurihara hit a 2-run RBI single in the bottom of the 1st inning, reaching a Pacific League-leading 110 RBI. Kondo also reached 97 RBI with his first Home Run in three games, placing him in second.

◇Kensuke Kondo Comment
"I hit a slider. I jammed it a little, but I was able to swing through it firmly. To be honest, I didn't think it would go out, but I'm glad it became a home run that provided a big additional run. I want to continue providing support and lead us to a win."
