Orix Buffaloes announced on the 27th that, as previously reported by Sports Hochi, catcher Tomoya Mori (31) underwent arthroscopic synovectomy of the left wrist at a hospital in Kobe City on the 26th. In this season, his fourth year since joining from the Seibu Lions via free agency, he appeared in 66 games with a .243 batting average, 7 Home Runs, and 24 RBIs. He had been complaining of pain since late May and continued to play through it until he was removed from the active roster for the second time on the 15th.

A return within this season is ruled out, and he is scheduled to begin rehabilitation while monitoring his condition.
