Samurai Japan's Atsuki Taneichi pitcher took the fifth position.

In the 7th inning of 5-7, mound went up, and Garcia closer the leadoff hitter with a grounder, followed by Arraez with a grounder. After calmly getting two outs, Suarez was slashed with a struck out and a runs to seal the powerful batting line with a three-way strikeout.

Taneichi joined the Chiba Lotte Marines in 2016 as the sixth pick in the draft from Hachinohe Institute of Technology High School. He underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow in 2020 but returned to the first team in 2022. In 2023, he recorded 10 wins and became a pillar of the starting rotation, and has publicly stated his intention to play in Major League Baseball in the future.
