The 2026 WORLD BASEBALL CLASSIC™ will be held at Tokyo Dome and other venues from Thursday, March 5th. Following the withdrawal of pitcher Chihiro Sumida of the Hanshin Tigers Tigers, who had been selected as a member of the Japanese national team, pitcher Tomoichiro Sumida of the Saitama Seibu Lions Lions was selected.

◇ Fukuoka Softbank 's "Fight! Kyushu 2026 jersey" design decided

Fukuoka Softbank has unveiled the design for jersey that will be distributed to attendees at "Fight! Kyushu Day" events held throughout Kyushu as part of their "Fight! Kyushu" project, which aims to energize the Kyushu region.

This year's Fight! Kyushu jersey features a design based on earthy smoky green, symbolizing the strength and inclusiveness of the Kyushu land. jersey embodies the wish to connect the feelings of each and every fan gathered at each game venue and further energize the entire Kyushu region.

This jersey will be distributed to all attendees at the "Fight! Kyushu Day" events, which are The Hawks home regular season held at four venues in Kyushu (excluding visitor cheering sections).

Fukuoka Softbank second-year pitcher, Shun Antoku, underwent Tommy John surgery

Fukuoka Softbank Shun Antoku pitcher underwent successful reconstruction of the medial collateral ligament (commonly known as Tommy John surgery) in his right elbow at a hospital in Saga City today. It is expected to take 12 months for him to return to competitive play.

Pitcher pitcher joined Fukuoka Softbank as the third pick in the 2024 draft. In his rookie year last season, he pitched 14.1 innings in five games for the minor leagues, ERA 4.40, and did not pitch in the major leagues.
