On February 1st, Saitama Seibu Lions officially kicked off their 2026 season. At Nango Central Park in Nichinan City, Miyazaki Prefecture, where the team is holding its spring training camp, a welcome ceremony was held ground, followed by the start of warm-ups. During the training camp, fans were allowed to come down onto ground to watch practice, and many fans were there to watch from the first day.

During the base running practice that followed, new recruit Masashi Kuwahara was seen smiling. His season as a member of Saitama Seibu Lions has finally begun.

First-round draft pick catcher Taiga Kojima showed off his ability to hit balls over the fence from the very first day. He also demonstrated his powerful hitting in free batting practice. He also received pitching from pitcher Chihiro Sumida in bullpen, showing solid performances on both offense and defense.

Rei Takahashi pitcher, a newcomer in training, went to bullpen with Kaito Yoza pitcher another underthrower in the same grade. It seems that they carefully checked pitch their movements, focusing on the use of the lower body.
