On 21 March, the opening match between Fukuoka Softbank and Hiroshima in MIZUHO PayPay Dome ended in a 5-1 Fukuoka Softbank win.

​Fukuoka Softbank starter Kohei Arihara pitcher allowed a leadoff doble in the first inning and was hit by Hayashi Akitae with one out to lead off the doble. He was hit by a pitch in the top of the second inning with a hit, but closer in the top of the third inning and was replaced with two outs and no runner in the top of the fourth. He threw 59 pitches in 3.2 innings hit Hit by Pitch 3 strike out 1 runs.

In the bottom of the third inning, Kenta Imamiya loaded the bases with two outs on hit and Kenta Tanigawara singles, and Ukyo Shuto tied the game on an RBI doble. In the bottom of the fourth, Yuki Yanagita, Tomoya Masaki, and Tatsuru Yanagimachi had a chance to bases loaded with one out on Walk, and Imamiya scored on a two-run RBI doble to win the game. In the bottom of the fifth, Zhou Dong advanced to second base with Walk and stolen base and Hotaka Yamakawa 's two-run single made it 5-1.

The relievers connected on a 1.1 inning in the fourth inning with Katsuki Matayoshi pitcher. Shunsuke Iwai pitcher entered the game in the top of the sixth inning and closer 2 inning to hit 1 Walk, and Hernandez pitcher retired three in the top of the eighth. Osuna pitcher closed out the game in the top of the ninth inning to end the game with a 5-1 lead.

In the Fukuoka Softbank win, Yamakawa scored his first Home Run in his 32nd at-bat in the opening game, while Imamiya, who joined the team today, RBI 2 hit and Zhou Dong hit 1 RBI 1 Walk 1 stolen base.
