Seibu announced on March 23 that two types of souvenir sweets using apples from the apple orchards of Mitsunari Takahashi pitcher and Shuta Tonosaki infielder 's parents will be available at The Lions Team Store Flags in the Belluna D area from March 28, when the season opener is held.
The apples from Takahashi's family are characterized by their beautiful appearance, thin skin, and good texture. To enjoy the crunchy texture, cut apples are placed in pound cake and sold as "Takahashi Apple Orchard's Apple Cut Cake" for 1,900 yen for a box of seven. Tonozaki's family's apples are full of nectar and have a rich flavor. To enjoy the apple flavor, apple juice is kneaded into the baumkuchen dough and sold as "Tonozaki Apple Orchard's Apple Baumkuchen" for 1,980 yen for a box of six. Tonozaki commented through the team, "Last year, we mixed apples from Mitsunari's family and my family, but this year we are making sweets that make use of the characteristics of each apple, so please enjoy the flavor and taste of the apples from my family in the baumkuchen! Apple juice is good, but I would be happy if you would also buy the baumkuchen."
The product packaging features players printed on it, and when the two product packages are put together they are designed to look like a double-page notebook.
