Chiba Lotte Marines 's Kyota Fujiwara was outstanding both offensively and defensively. He had three hit at bat and made some excellent throws in the field.
He started the game as the number 2 batter and right fielder. In his first at-bat in the first inning, he hit hit to center fielder, and in his second hit bat in the top of the third inning, he hit another single to left field. In the bottom of the third inning, he impressed with defense. With two bases loaded and the bases Ryo Ota and made a sharp throw to home plate to tag out the runner at second base. He got out of a jam with minimal runs and saved the team.
Then, in the top of the 6th inning, Fujiwara hit his third hit of the day to center fielder. He recorded his first three-hit of the season, and his batting average rose to .317.
