Yamaguchi spoke with an excited voice. This is his first Monthly MVP selection in his eighth year. In August, he recorded a .302 batting average, 10 Home Runs, and 17 RBI in 24 games. From the Softbank Hawks game on the 26th (ZOZO) to the Nippon-Ham game on the 29th (Es Con), he hit home runs in four consecutive games for the second time this season. Achieving four consecutive games with a home run twice in a single season is a feat accomplished for the first time in 41 years by a player in the organization since Hiromitsu Ochiai in 1985. Receiving the award after leaving behind such masterful results, he smiled and said, 'I am honestly happy. I think it was a month where things went exactly as I had hoped.'

The most memorable hit was a two-run shot in the game against the Rakuten Eagles on August 18th (at Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi). Reflecting on it, he said, 'I hit a home run on my own birthday, so I remember that very clearly.'

So far, he has recorded 27 Home Runs, significantly breaking his career high. He expressed his vision, saying, 'I have been working hard with a goal of 30 for the season, so I definitely want to clear the remaining three.'
