◆Pacific League: Lotte vs. Rakuten Eagles (8th, ZOZO Marine)

Lotte pitcher Yuki Karakawa (37) attended a retirement press conference at his home stadium, ZOZO, on the 8th.

He appeared in the 2006 and 2007 Senbatsu with Narita High School, and in the 2007 high school draft, he garnered attention as one of the 'High School Big 3' alongside his contemporaries Sho Nakata of Osaka Toin (Nippon-Ham's 1st round pick) and Yoshinori Sato of Sendai Ikuei (Yakult's 1st round pick).

Karakawa spent his entire 19-year active career with Lotte and was the last of the three to retire. He expressed his feelings for the other two, saying, 'I remember thinking of them more as comrades than rivals, especially when I first joined the team. I am grateful to them.'
