In the bottom of the eighth, leadoff player Sasakawa reached base at Walk, and with a runner on third and stolen base, a timely infield hit by Ayumu Ezaki scored, scoring the first since the first inning. pitcher Iwai retired three batters including two strike out in the top of the ninth, entering the bottom of the ninth with a four-run lead. He created a good opportunity with runners on second and third with one out and runners on second and third through consecutive hits from leadoff, but ultimately gave up consecutive struck out, ending the game 6-2.
