Pacific League: Seibu Lions 4, Rakuten Eagles 1 (30th, Belluna Dome)
The retirement ceremony for Seibu Lions outfielder Takumi Kuriyama was held on the 30th after the game against the Rakuten Eagles (Belluna Dome).
After a video summarizing his upbringing and achievements to date was played in the stadium, he appeared on the ground. First, pitcher Takayuki Kishi, a former Seibu Lions player who was the starter for the Rakuten Eagles that day, and then Seibu Lions catcher Ginjiro Sumitani and infielder Takeya Nakamura, who had played alongside him for many years, presented him with bouquets in turn, and he could not stop his tears.
He started his retirement game as the designated hitter, batting sixth. In his fourth at-bat in the eighth inning with two outs and a three-run lead, he hit a single to center field for his 2,152nd career hit.
