Lotte overcame a five-run deficit to win in a come-from-behind walk-off. The game was decided in the 10th extra inning, tied at 5-5, by outfielder Koki Yamaguchi's 24th solo home run.

The early stages were a struggle. Starting pitcher Sam Long got shelled from the first inning. After putting himself in a jam with runners on first and second and no outs by giving up consecutive Walks to the leadoff hitter Masaki and then Shuto, he gave up the opening run on an RBI single to center by Kondo in just 13 pitches.

Furthermore, five runs were given up all at once following RBI dobles by Kurihara and Yanagita, an RBI single to left by Makihara, and a sacrifice fly to right by Hirose. A heavy atmosphere hung in the air.

The lineup started a comeback in the first inning with an RBI hit by Sato. In the third inning, trailing 1-5, Sato hit another RBI single with no outs and runners on first and second. Furthermore, another run was added on Soto's shortstop grounder double play, cutting the lead to two runs.

From the middle inning onward, the game became pitcher, with both teams going zero. In the eighth inning, Masuda reached 800 appearances, becoming the ninth pitcher in history. Despite facing a bases loaded crisis with one out, he held on with no runs and extended his record.

Trailing 3-5 in the 9th inning with one out, Ogawa drew a Walk and Yasuda hit a doble down the right-field line to create a chance. Ueda struck out swinging, but pinch-hitter Yamamoto hit a two-run single to center off Sugiyama to tie the game.

Yamaguchi put an end to the intense game with a dramatic home run in the 10th extra inning.
