On the 20th, Orix Buffaloes announced that they will hold a retirement ceremony for pitcher Yoshihisa Hirano who has announced his retirement at the end of this season, after their game against Softbank Hawks on September 25th.

Hirano joined Orix Buffaloes in 2005 through the preferential draft system. In his first year, 2006, he pitched 172 1/3 innings in 26 games, recording 7 wins and 11 losses with an ERA of 3.81. He served as a starter until 2009, but was moved to the bullpen in 2010. He won the Best reliever pitcher title in 2011, and then switched to closer in 2013, winning the Most Saves title in 2014.

He played in the major leagues for three years starting in 2018, and returned to Orix Buffaloes in 2021. He achieved 20 saves for three consecutive years starting in 2021, contributing to Orix Buffaloes 's three consecutive league championships. He achieved his 250th career save in a game against the Chiba Lotte Marines on April 3, 2025. On August 9, the team announced his retirement from professional baseball at the end of this season.
