Saitama Seibu Lions Co., Ltd. and Seibu Lions Co., Ltd. announced on the 17th that, as part of the "PR1DE SERIES" special project for Takumi Kuriyama, who will have his retirement game on August 30th (Sunday), they will begin a series of special events along Seibu Lions Line starting from August 17th (Monday).
Takumi Kuriyama, known as "Mr. Leo," has dedicated his entire 25-year career to The Lions since joining the team in 2002, always leading the team. To coincide with the third installment of the "PR1DE SERIES," which will be held over eight days in the 2026 season, from August 28th (Fri) to 30th (Sun), a special retirement event will be held not only at the stadium but also involving Seibu Lions and the areas along Seibu Lions Line, which are used by many fans.
From August 17th (Monday) to August 30th (Sunday), the two Saitama Seibu Lionsラッピング trains, "L-train," will have all of their interior advertisements taken over, operating as the "L-train" "PR1DE EDITION." Passengers can look back on various aspects of Kuriyama's life, from his youth when he first joined the team, to his time as captain, and his current status as a legend and role model for the club. The L-train's location can be checked using the "Seibu Lions Line App," and during this period, the L-train icon in the app will change to the PR1DE SERIES logo.
Furthermore, on Sunday, the 30th, the day of his retirement game, the fourth-generation "L-train" "PR1DE EDITION," adorned with the "PR1DE the FINAL" symbol at its front, will be parked at platform 5 of Seibu Lions Kyujo-mae Station. The train's interior, decorated with hanging advertisements, will be open to the public.
In addition, starting on Monday the 17th, digital signage utilizing the space above approximately 60 vending machines installed at stations along Seibu Lions Line will also be showing videos of the PR1DE SERIES as a special retirement project. Furthermore, starting on Monday the 24th, an advertisement featuring a message of gratitude from Kuriyama to his fans who have supported him for many years will appear on the advertising boards inside Ikebukuro Station, which supports Kuriyama as the "Station's Favorite Lion."
Then, during the "PR1DE SERIES" from Friday the 28th to Sunday the 30th, a giant three-sided banner will be displayed on Platform 1 of Nishi-Tokorozawa Station, and for three days only, a message from Kuriyama will be shown reflecting on his baseball career so far, describing the struggles and journey of his 25 years, and his determination as he heads to his final at-bat.
