◆ Seibu Lions Pacific League: Seibu vs. Orix Buffaloes (August 1st, Belluna Dome)

Orix Buffaloes Sean Hjelle pitcher was pulled after 3 hit in the 6th inning with no runs. In the first inning, with two outs, he gave Hit by Pitch to An-Ko Lin, but then shut out Nevin to fly out to right for no runs. In the second inning, with one out, Canario and Yu Koga hit consecutive Hit by Pitch, putting runners on first and second, but he got Genda to ground out to shortstop and Wakabayashi to a throwing grounder.

In the third inning, with one out, Hiruma was carried to center field, and An-Ko Lin was hit by a Walk, putting runners on first and second. Even so, Nevin flied to right and Hirasawa grounded out to first, closer again, but no runs were allowed. In the fourth inning, he had Yu Koga and Wakabayashi walk Walk, but with two outs and runners on first and second, he let Takizawa go and got struck out in the end.

In the fifth inning, he gave up a single to Hiruma, the leadoff batter, but he shut down the subsequent batters and kept the runs at 0-0. In the sixth inning, immediately after his team's offense scored the first run, he allowed triple to Koga Yu with one out, but struck out out Genda swinging and got Wakabayashi to ground out to the shortstop, clenching his fist in triumph. From the seventh inning, the second pitcher, Yamazaki, took mound.

Despite giving up six Hit by Pitch hit batters, Jerry pitched a game-winning 111 pitches, the most he's thrown since coming to Japan.
