Saitama Seibu Lions Nevin The player hit a solo home run, his 12th of the season, to give his team the lead.

In the bottom of the second inning, Nevin stepped up to the plate as the leadoff hitter. With a 3-1 count, he swung at breaking ball that came close to the middle of the plate, sending it just inside the left field stands for his 12th home run of the season. This was his first home run since the game against Chunichi on June 6th, and it gave his team the lead.

Nevin had a .341 batting average and Home Run in May, earning him the monthly MVP award, but his performance declined in June (.224 batting average) and July (.176 batting average). Will this home run be the turning point that will get him back in form?
