Lotte finally secured their first win of the season at Kyocera Dome, where they had suffered eight consecutive losses since the start of the season. Their season record now stands at 41 wins, 46 losses, and 3 ties, putting them in 5th place with a deficit of 5 games as they head into the All-Star break.

In the first inning, Koki Yamaguchi outfielder hit a solo home run—his 17th of the season, a career high—to give his team the lead. In the second inning, Neftalí Soto infielder also hit a solo home run, his 13th of the season. In the fifth inning, Naonori Yasuda infielder added a third run with a sacrifice fly.

Starting after five days of rest, pitcher Andre Jackson displayed stable control and was supported by solid defense, allowing only two runs in 116 pitches through the eighth inning. The relief pitchers held onto the lead and secured the win. This was Jackson's seventh win of the season.

Lotte will face Nippon-Ham in a three-game series at Escon Stadium starting on the 31st, after the All-Star break.
