Softbank Hawks Hawks pitcher Taiga Kamichatani will make his first start since joining the team in the game against Nippon-Ham Fighters on the 16th (at Escon ES CON FIELD). The right-hander joined the team from the Nippon-Ham DeNA BayStars in the 2024 offseason draft. Speaking to reporters that day, he declared that he will go full throttle from the first pitch, saying, "reliever pitchers are quite strong, so I'm going to approach it like bullpen day and go all out from the first inning."

Regarding Nippon-Ham lineup, he commented, "They have a lineup with absolutely no weaknesses from the first batter to the ninth. (On the 14th) the more I watched, the more intimidating it became. So I stopped watching halfway through." He is particularly wary of Reyes, who has hit 3 Home Run hit At Bat-bats against him this season. "I have the impression that he has hit me quite a lot, so I would like to avoid getting runner on base to him," he cautioned.

He has appeared in 26 games so far, with 4 wins and ERA 2.12. He has been putting up consistent results, but when he takes the mound as a starter, he says, "I want to use all the pitches I have more than when I'm reliever," indicating his intention to shut down opponents with a more diverse approach.
