Seibu Lions 's pitcher Hibiki Shinohara, gave up the go-ahead hit in the 10th inning with the score extra inning 2-2, ending their first winning streak in July. They also missed out on their first series win in five series.

The gap between them and third-place Nippon-Ham has been eliminated, and from the 10th they will travel to ES CON FIELD for a three-game direct confrontation. Manager Nishiguchi said, "I hope the starting pitchers can set the stage for the game, and that we can somehow get a hit back. We haven't been hitting very well lately, so I hope fielder can get a hit when it matters most."

In the 10th inning, with extra inning score tied 2-2, Shinohara, who came in as the fourth pitcher this inning, gave up a go-ahead doble to Muto that hit the right wall with two outs and a runner on first. After that, with bases loaded and two outs, he gave up an RBI Walk, resulting in three runs being scored against him.

In the first inning, with both teams scoreless, outfielder Seiya Watanabe hit a go-ahead RBI single to center field with one out and a runner on second base.
