At a special stage set up before the game, a fundraising appeal was made for the victims of the large-scale earthquake that struck Venezuela in South America. Crossing team boundaries, Lotte pitcher Castillo, who is from Softbank Hawks, along with Softbank pitcher Hernandez and third-round draft pitcher Gota Suzuki (from Osaka Commercial University) took part. Fans formed long lines to donate, and the three responded with high-fives.

Castillo expressed his feelings, saying, "Unfortunately, a woman with whom my family and I were close went missing a few days ago and passed away a little while ago. My whole family is heartbroken."

210 fans participated in the fundraising, raising 186,579 yen. "I am so grateful. Venezuela and Japan are geographically quite far apart, but there were people who donated for Venezuela despite that, and I am truly grateful to each and every one of them," she said in her thanks.

The collected donations will be donated through the Fukuoka Prefecture branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society.
