Orix Buffaloes ・ Yuma Mune infielder (30) met the requirements to become a domestic free agent (FA) on the 30th.
He joined the team in 2014 as the second overall pick in the draft from Yokohama Hayato, and this season marks his 12th year as a professional. He received the Best Nine and Golden Glove awards from 2021 to 2023, when the team won the league championship three times in a row, and is an indispensable player as the starting third baseman. Emphasizing his focus on the season, Mune expressed his feelings, saying, "I have a lot of affection for this place. I love Osaka too." The team plans to formally negotiate his retention after the end of the season.
