Tohoku Rakuten Eagles starter Masaru Fujii pitcher gave up one run in the first inning after Ho Omori hit his fourth solo home run and Fabian's sacrifice fly in the top of the second. In the top of the third, all three outs retired; in the top of the fourth and fifth, he carried runner but did not allow any runs; and in the top of the sixth and seventh, all three retired in order. However, in the top of the eighth inning, with two hit, he faced a crisis with runners on second and third and one out, leading to his exit. Haruto Nakagomi pitcher who came back behind conceded one goal in sacrifice fly.
On the other hand, the lineup couldn't catch the opposing starter, Shun Okamoto pitcher, and went scoreless for 2 hit through seven innings. In the bottom of the 8th and 9th, the bullpen hit but the game ended without any runs. pitcher Fujii pitched 7.1 innings, throwing 111 pitches, 7 hit, 1 Walk, 2 strike out, and 3 runs. The lineup ended with scattered 4 hit, suffering two consecutive shutout game losses.
