Reyes of Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters hit his 13th home run of the season.

After scoring the first run in the first inning, they gave up three runs in the top of the second inning, putting them two runs behind going into the bottom of the third inning. With one out and no runner on base, Reyes stepped up to the plate for his second at-bat. On a 2-0 count, he connected with a pitcher from opposing starter Hideaki Wakui, and his confident hit soared into the right-field stands for his 13th home run of the season.

Prior to the game, Reyes was in excellent form, with a batting average of .345, Home Run, and an OPS of 1.127 during interleague play. His reliable slugger's home run temporarily narrowed the gap to just one run.
