Rakuten Eagles Kenta Maeda who earned his first win of the season the previous day, the 25th

Rakuten Eagles Eagles pitcher Kenta Maeda, on the 26th, looked ahead to further success the day after his first win of the season. In the game against Seibu Lions on the 25th (Rakuten Eagles Mobile), he pitched seven runs innings, allowing only three hit, earning his first NPB win in 3,919 days. The right-hander, who participated in pitcher practice at his home stadium that day, said with determination, "Right now I feel half joy and half relief. It's only one win so far, and from today I have to start preparing for my next appearance. I can switch my mindset and move forward with preparations in a positive way, and I think I can make the necessary adjustments, so in that sense I hope this will be a good opportunity."

Before practice that day, he checked out the Japan-Sweden World Cup soccer match. "Zion Williamson (the goalkeeper) made so many saves," he said, seemingly inspired by the team's efforts. Ken Maeda, like him, has also competed on the world stage, albeit in a different sport. "In baseball, people used to say we couldn't beat the majors, America, or the Dominican Republic, but then we became world champions in the WBC. I think soccer is also reaching a level where we can become the best in the world. I think becoming the best in the world is important for children as well," he said.

The right-handed pitcher understands the weight of representing his country. "I hope he does his best. I want him to keep going up the ranks. Kenta Maeda is cheering for the Japanese national team," he said, offering his heartfelt support.
