Rakuten Eagles took the lead in the 7th inning.

The batting lineup finally connected. In the 7th inning, trailing by three runs, with one out and runners on first and second, Sato hit an RBI single to center field. Then, with two outs and the bases bases loaded, McCusker hit a two-run single to left field to tie the game.

The offense, now riding a wave of momentum, showed no signs of stopping. With two outs and runners on first and second base, Watanabe Kei hit a go-ahead RBI single to right field. They scored four runs in the seventh inning, successfully taking the lead.

However, in the 8th inning, the second pitcher, Kutani, gave up a two-run homer to Hasegawa, who won the Interleague MVP award, with no outs and a runner on first base, allowing the opposing team to take the lead.
