　日本ハムは接戦を制し、交流戦を白星締め。９連勝をマークするなど１４勝４敗で交流戦を終えたが、優勝には届かなかった。

　西武が敗れ、５点差以上で勝利すれば交流戦Ｖの可能性を残していたが、西武が勝ったため優勝はならず。５点差をつけられなかったため、同率で並んだソフトバンクにも得失点差率で及ばず３位となった。
