Lotte pitcher Haruya Tanaka (22) started the game but was knocked out after pitching his shortest outing of his professional career, just 1 1/3 innings, giving up 6 hit, 2 Walk, and a career-worst tying 7 runs.

From the first inning, his control was poor, and he gave up a single to left hit to the leadoff doble Ebina. Maki hit a foul fly to third base for the first out, but Sano hit a double to left-center field to give the opposing team the lead. Another run was scored on a ground ball to second base by Katsumata.

He couldn't recover twice. Matsuo got Walk leadoff and Kyoda hit to left, with runners on first and second with no outs. Oda flew out to shortstop with one out, then hit a timely single to center field to Ebina. With one out and runners on first and second, Maki hit a three-run homer to center field. After Walk to Sano, he stepped down. Sakamoto, the second pitcher, couldn't stop DeNA's momentum, giving up a three-run homer to Katsumata and giving up three runs. After the top of the second inning, the score was 0-10.
