With three straight wins Hanshin Tigers, they have achieved an undefeated six-game winning streak in interleague play at their home stadium for the first time in 15 years, since 2011. Maintaining their lead in interleague play, they could clinch their 10th championship, the most among all 12 teams, as early as the 13th.

In the fourth inning, trailing by one run, Masaki's solo home run of the fifth and Kurihara's sacrifice fly gave him the lead.
