Softbank Hawks announced the creation of the "Fukuoka Oh Sadaharu Legacy Award" on the 23rd. This is part of the "FUKUOKA OH SADAHARU LEGACY PROJECT," for which a press conference was held that day to mark the award's launch. The award aims to honor players, coaches, and staff who have made significant contributions to the team and The Hawks since Sadaharu Oh became the manager of the Fukuoka Daiei Hawks, and to pass on their achievements and legacy to the next generation.
The first recipients of the award are scheduled to be announced in 2027. In commemoration of the award's establishment, three former directors, Tadashi Sugiura, Koichi Tabuchi, and Rikio Nemoto, will be honored as special honors.
