◆ Pacific League Nippon-Ham 9-0 Lotte (31st, ES CON FIELD)

Lotte allowed no hitter to Nippon-Ham, Haruki Hosono, and pitcher (24), gave up 12 struck out, and suffered their second consecutive shutout loss. It was their first no-hitter since Ose of the Hiroshima Carp on June 7, 2024—a humiliating defeat that came two years later.

Fujiwara, batting second and playing full right field, hit a grounder to shortstop with double play hits, Hit by Pitch, a fly out to center, and a lookout struck out, for a 3-At Bat no-hit. In his fourth at-bat with two outs and a runner on first in the ninth, he missed the count on the fifth pitch after 2-2, missed a steep outside pitch, and took a strike, becoming the final hitter.

After the game, he commented on Hosono's change, saying, "I think he's a good pitcher. I think he was throwing from a slightly different angle than last year." He then looked ahead to the second game of the series on the 1st, saying, "I want to switch gears and do my best."
