Lotte manager Saburo (49) revealed after the game against Hanshin Tigers on the 17th that pitcher Atsuki Taneichi (27), who made his WBC debut as a member of Samurai Japan, will rejoin the team for the game against Hanshin Tigers on the 18th (at ZOZO Marine Stadium).

"I think he'll come tomorrow (the 18th). We'll have a proper discussion then, and I think the schedule (for the future) will be decided from there. I think it will depend on his physical condition," the manager said. The plan is to decide on the pitching schedule and other details after meeting with Taneichi.

In his first appearance at the WBC, Taneichi pitched in three games, compiling a record of 1 win and 0 losses ERA 2.25. He returned to Japan on a chartered plane that arrived at Narita Airport on the 16th.
