Nippon-Ham pitcher Nao Miyanishi entered bullpen on the 18th at the first-team Nago camp, which he joined on the 17th. He threw 38 pitches, including a straight pitch, slider, and change-up to hitter.
After bullpen, Miyanishi said, "The actual games will start soon, so I threw while imagining the actual games." He also nodded about joining the first team, saying, "I took part in the whole (practice) today, and I feel like I'm in high spirits."
Until now, he has been the type to decide the amount of practice he does himself, but he has now changed his approach to closer the amount to suit his age and focusing on quality. "I've always been conscious of the idea of practicing until I'm 80% full, and I've been keeping that in mind since the off-season, with the theme of doing my best, taking my time and not rushing, so I'm trying to continue that," he said.
Regarding his results, he said, "When I entered training camp, I felt great. In this day and age, everything is measured by numbers, and all of those numbers are good, both physically and in terms of pitch." The 40-year-old left-hander, who has pitched in 900 games, continues to update his numbers and prepare for the opening game.
