Orix Buffaloes began their training camp at Kiyotake General Athletic Park in Miyazaki on the 1st. 34-year-old pitcher Alen Kuri threw about 350 pitches on the first day.

The right-handed pitcher, who joined from Hiroshima last season, posted a record of 11 wins and 8 losses. In his first year after the transfer, he threw a team-leading 164 1/3 innings, and in October of last year, just after the season ended, he said, "I want to aim for 200 inning (for the season), and I have to aim for that." On this day, he threw for 90 minutes from 11:20 a.m. to 12:50 p.m., embodying his enthusiasm in his second year after the transfer.
