Softbank Hawks manager Hiroki Kokubo was presented with a Japan Championship commemorative board by Miyazaki City and other parties (in Miyazaki City)

Softbank Hawks, which won the Japan Series for the first time in five years, held a "welcome parade" on the 31st in Miyazaki City, where the team is currently holding its spring training camp. The city only holds parades the year after the team won the Japan Series. The parade was not held in 2021, the year after the team's last Japan Series win in 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this the first such parade in six years. The players traveled about 650 meters from Miyazaki Station in open cars and other vehicles, responding to the cheers of approximately 45,000 people (according to organizers) along the road.

Manager Hiroki Kokubo (54), who was in the lead car, declared, "At the end of the parade, we will erase the memory of winning the Japan Series championship, and in line with this year's slogan (All New), we will create a new team with a completely new, clean mind." The team will also work on reforming its organization in order to win a third consecutive championship. An anonymous survey will be conducted on the first day of training camp for players and coaches. Although details were not revealed, the survey will investigate "what position each player holds, and how they function within the team." Plans are being drawn up to adopt a leadership system for each department. (Shimao Koichiro)
