On October 5th, Ryota Igarashi, Sho Nakata, and T-Okada appeared on the Persol Pacific League TV official YouTube channel's "Monday Pa-Tele Iki Supported by Scalp D" to discuss the new rules for the "Persol CS Pacific League."

Starting this season, a new rule has been introduced where the final stage becomes a 7-game series requiring 5 wins to advance, and the 1st place team is given a 2-win advantage beforehand, only if the game difference between the 1st place club and the first baseman stage winner is 10 or more, or if the first baseman stage winner's winning percentage is less than .500.

As a result, Fukuoka Softbank, which is already confirmed to be more than 10 games ahead of the 2nd place Saitama Seibu Lions, will be given a 2-win advantage in the "Persol CS Pacific League" final stage.

Regarding the advantage of the new rule, the three agreed that it is "incredibly huge," and T-Okada pointed out the benefits, saying, "You can fight with a lot of leeway, and you can go into it while thinking about the Japan Series as well."

On the other hand, Nakata drew laughter by saying, "Of course, since they won the championship by more than 10 games, they won by a landslide. So starting with a 2-win (advantage) is unfair, isn't it!" while also developing his own theory, saying, "Of course I'm rooting for Fukuoka Softbank too, but I also want to see other teams engage in fierce battles."

Then, Fukuoka Softbank OB Igarashi argued, "Since it's come to this, you can fight with the mindset of 'let's pull ahead by more than 10 games and go for another advantage,' so I thought this rule was great in terms of maintaining motivation," and shared his view, saying, "When it gets to the end of the season, don't individual results tend to become the main focus? Instead of the competition, people tend to lean towards that (individual results), but I think it was good for The Hawks that it didn't turn out that way."
