Orix Buffaloes outfielder Ryoma Nishikawa has won the most hits title, his first career batting title. He joined Hiroshima as a fifth-round draft pick in 2015 from the corporate team Oji and moved to the Orix Buffaloes as a free agent after the 2023 season. In this, his 11th professional season, he accumulated 155 hits and shared the title with Lotte's Nishikawa.
The following is a comment from Nishikawa.
I have received messages from many people, and realizing how many were supporting me has gradually made the reality of winning the most hits title sink in. It is an honor to share this title with Misho Nishikawa, who coincidentally has the same surname. Seeing him hit this much despite the difference in the number of games and at-bats made me realize once again what a truly wonderful hitter he is. I want to re-examine myself from scratch next year and work hard again so that I do not lose to the younger players.
