Seibu Lions outfielder Seiya Watanabe participated in a full team practice held at the home stadium, Belluna Dome, on the 2nd. Regarding reports in some weekly magazines about his marriage to a non-celebrity woman, he limited his comments to saying, "As for the details, since we still have the CS (Climax Series) and other things going on, I hope to make an announcement during the off-season."

In his second professional season since switching to third base, he has played in 127 games, batting .255 with 121 hit, 48 RBI 12 Home Run. He is just one Home Run away from surpassing his rookie season total and becoming his career high.

The team has already been confirmed to play in the first stage of the Climax Series (CS) starting on the 10th. Looking ahead to the remaining two regular-season games on the 5th and 6th, he expressed his enthusiasm, saying, 'I'm just one home run away from a career high, so while I'm not specifically aiming for a Home Run, I want to aim for that career high and contribute so the team can head into the CS with good momentum.'
