Today, January 22nd (Thursday), Tohoku Rakuten Eagles Rui Muneyama player, Itsuki Murabayashi We look back at the players' great defensive plays.

The two were competing for a position at the start of the season

The game against Fukuoka Softbank was held at Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi on April 27th. Muneyama started short stop and Murabayashi as second baseman.

Muneyama showed his presence on defense by blocking a close-range stolen base with a quick touch and then deftly handling a ball that looked like it was going to be an infield hit the out. Meanwhile, Murabayashi also made an impact with defense, catching up with a ball that looked like it was going to go through to center fielder.

At the beginning of the season, the two players competed for short stop position, but Muneyama would sometimes ask Murabayashi questions about defense. In the end, Muneyama was named Best Nine at short stop, and Murabayashi was named Best Nine at third baseman and won the Mitsui Golden Glove Award, showing how they pushed each other to achieve great results as friendly rivals.
