Today, January 22nd (Thursday), Tohoku Rakuten Eagles Rui Muneyama player, Itsuki Murabayashi We look back at the players' great defensive plays.
The two were competing for a position at the start of the season
In the game against Fukuoka Softbank held at Rakuten Mobile Park Miyagi on April 27th, Muneyama started short stop and Murabayashi started at second baseman.
Soyama made his presence felt defense, stopping a close stolen base base attempt with a quick tag and making a swift play to get an out on a ball that looked like it would be infield hit. Murabayashi, on the other hand, also made his presence felt defense, chasing down a ball that looked like it would get through to center fielder.
At the start of the season, the two players were competing for short stop position, but it seems that Muneyama would sometimes ask Murabayashi questions about defense. In the end, Muneyama was named to the Best Nine at short stop, and Murabayashi was named to the Best Nine at third baseman and won the Mitsui Golden Glove Award, showing how they pushed each other to improve as good rivals and achieved great results.
Tomorrow, January 23rd (Friday), we will feature a dramatic ending! "walk-off"! We will look back at the first professional walk-off hit by Natsuo Takizawa, who had a big breakthrough in the 2025 season!
