Chiba Lotte Marines announced that former team members Tomohisa Otani and Sho Narita will become technical coaches at The Marines Baseball Academy (MBA).

Otani, who served as pitcher coordinator for Chiba Lotte Marines last year, will take up the role of coach from January 1, 2026, while Narita will take up the role from February 1. They will also be involved in promoting baseball through coaching at MBA's regular school and movie lessons, as well as through the "Baseball Challenge" program, which visits kindergartens and elementary schools in the prefecture to teach the basics of baseball.

"I will use the experience I have gained so far to provide careful and cherishing support each and every day so that your time playing baseball will be more fulfilling for you. Let's have fun practicing and grow together. I look forward to the day I can meet you all on ground."

▼Comment from Sho Narita▼
"I think it's very important for children to have dreams and goals as they grow. I want to work together with each child to achieve their dreams and goals. The disappointments and joys are all important experiences. Let's work hard together to gain as many experiences as possible, improve even in one area, and become even better at baseball. I look forward to working with you in the future."
