Rakuten Eagles outfielder Yuya Ogo conducted voluntary training in Okinawa Prefecture on the 12th and vowed to make a comeback this season.

In 2011, he was the only player from the 12 teams to play the full inning in every game, but last season he played in just 90 games, with a batting average of .173 and two Home Run, a poor performance. He is determined to make a comeback. Speaking online after practice, Ogo emphasized, "I'm going to train hard again and do my best to have a good season."

He wants to live up to the expectations of his seniors. On the 6th, Ambassador Okajima, who retired at the end of last season, nominated Ogo as his top pick for this season. "I think the team will change dramatically if he performs well. I'm looking forward to Ogo's comeback," he said, hoping for a comeback.

Ogo responded strongly to the comment, which could be interpreted as an encouragement. "I was honestly happy to hear Take-san (Okajima) say that. I think there are things that only I can do, so if Take-san has given me such an evaluation, I want to prepare well enough to live up to that and work to dramatically change the team," he said, as if to motivate himself.

As veteran players who have supported the team hang up their uniforms, expectations are high for number 51 to play a key role as a pillar. He will aim to regain his batting ability and regain a regular spot in his turning 30 season.
