Lotte catcher Ryusei Terachi Terachi (20) attended the "Reiwa 8 Hatachi Gathering" hosted by Sumida Ward, Tokyo on the 12th. He attended the ceremony in a suit and interacted with local teammates.
"I have once again realized that from now on I want to act with even more awareness and responsibility as a member of society. Also, in baseball, I want to show the kind of play that meets the expectations of the fans and become a player that they will support even more. To that end, I will first do my best this year to produce solid results."
Terachi secured a starting line-up position around the end of April last season, and made a big breakthrough, appearing in 116 games since appearing in just two games in 2012. He reached the required number of at-bats and also performed well with the bat, hitting a batting average of .256 with five Home Run and 33 RBI. Expectations are high for his third season as a pro.
