Rakuten Eagles outfielder Yuya Ogo conducted a voluntary training session in Okinawa Prefecture on the 12th. He adjusted his game through batting practice and batting practice. In an online interview after the session, Ogō said, "Last year, I wasn't doing very well even before the season started. I feel like I just let the season drag on, so I'm going to train hard again and do my best to have a good season."

In 2011, he was the only player out of the 12 teams to inning the full innings in every game, but last season he played in just 90 games, batting .173 with just two Home Run, a poor performance. He was even demoted to the second team. Hoping to bounce back, he is thoroughly reviewing his batting this offseason. "I'm focusing on batting. As I rebuild myself, I'm going to focus on the feelings I had when I was doing well and the efforts I've made so far, more carefully and gradually increasing the intensity. I think that will lead to better batting, so I'm also conscious of stability," he revealed.

He is particularly conscious of his batting average and on-base percentage. "I knew I couldn't play in the game unless I had a good average, so my theme was to get on base, get on base, and use my feet effectively in my attacks. It would be nice if I could hit a long ball, but I'm focusing on that (average) so that I can play in the game," he said.
