Orix Buffaloes On March 12, Hiroya Miyagi pitcher opened up their voluntary training session to the public at the team's facility in Maishima, Osaka. The ace left-hander, who is entering his seventh year as a pro, finished his dash at the indoor practice field and then ground catch balled. 25 years ago, the team finished third, so he renewed his resolve: "I think everyone is still frustrated, and I want all the members we have now to fight for the championship again and go to Hawaii with everyone. I want to go to Hawaii with everyone.

He is expected to be a part of Samurai Japan at the WBC in March. Looking back on the previous tournament in 2013, when they were crowned world champion, he said, "I still feel that way, and I will look back on it as one of the best periods of my life," and expressed his desire to play in a second consecutive tournament, saying, "Of course, I would like to be selected and fight my hardest. If there is a chance, I would definitely like to play." He has been the opening pitcher for two consecutive years since 2012, and he has his sights set on the big role for a third consecutive year, saying, "Of course I'm aiming for it, and I'll make sure to prepare in advance, be mentally prepared, and do not neglect those things."

On the 10th, he announced his marriage to a non-celebrity woman from Okinawa who is in the same year as him. "We're both from Okinawa, so we get along well and get along well. We have similar tastes in food. I generally like homemade food, and taco rice is a fond memory for me. It still doesn't really feel real (about married life), but I hope we can work together and do our best from now on," he said with a smile.
