Orix Buffaloes 's rookie joint training session began on the 10th at the team's facility in Maishima, Osaka. Ten players, including first-round draft pitcher Atsuya Fujikawa (Nobeoka Gakuen), practiced catch and light training. Fujikawa reaffirmed his determination, saying, "I'm happy that we were finally able to practice. Everyone has fast balls and is physically strong, so I think I've joined a good team. My first goal is to get in shape, and if I get the chance to be called up to the first team, I want to pitch well."

Second-placed pitcher Haruki Mori (Osaka Toin High School) said, "I was really excited before it started, and it was really fun after the first day of voluntary training. I want to show off my fastball." Third-placed pitcher Ryugetsu Sato (Kendai Takasaki High School) said, "Everyone is at a high level, so I want to try not to lose. In my first year, I'll do my best to aim for my first win in the first team."
