Lotte's Takabe smiled as he held up his new glove.

Lotte outfielder Eito Takabe held a public training session at his home stadium, Zozo, on the 6th, working up a sweat with batting practice and fielding practice.

This season, he will inherit the uniform number "0" from Ogino, who left the team at the end of last season. "I felt the pressure (of number 0), but I thought that the 'congratulations' (from those around me) was a little different, but I am grateful. There were many positive words, so I was happy. As number really said, I started from scratch and had to add my own color again. I need to look at myself again and make it my best season and get off to a good start. I want to take the plunge and put pressure on myself."

When asked what he wants to achieve this season with zero errors, he answered immediately, "Without a doubt, it's errors. Errors are what have the biggest impact on your mental health." Last season he made five errors, and on this day he put on a new glove on his left hand and went after the ball during practice. "Whether it's stolen base bases or defense, I think it's really difficult to be expected to succeed. The hardest thing is to do each thing carefully, one by one, every day, so that's what I want to aim for," he said, stepping onto ground with the goal of eliminating mistakes in mind.
