Lotte's Shunsuke Nakamori pitcher attended the "Special Talk Show & Autographed Goods Lottery" held at Nakayama Racecourse with Shota Suzuki pitcher on March 20.
Nakamori tried his hand at betting on horse racing for the first time in the main race of the day, the Turquoise Stakes. He bet on the 10th favorite, Salt Queen, as a place winner, and won the race with odds of 5.4 to 1, finishing in third place. When asked if he had become addicted to horse racing after this, Nakamori modestly replied, "I don't really do it..." showing his down-to-earth side.
Next year, he will be the oldest man in the Year of the Horse. This season, he made the opening day first team and pitched in 25 games, finishing with a record of 2 wins and 2 losses and ERA of 1.23, but had a disappointing season in July when he had to leave the team due to back pain. "I want to do my best so that people will say that the 2026 season was Nakamori's season." Next season, he will charge through the season like a workhorse.
