On the 14th, Orix pitcher Hiroshi (Suzuki Hiroshi) attended contract renewal negotiations at the Seitokan training camp in Maishima, Osaka, and signed for 22 million yen, a decrease of 5 million yen (estimated amount).

This season, his second year since transferring from Chunichi via the active player draft, he made the opening day first team, but was removed from the active player roster on May 5th. He was re-registered on May 25th, but was unable to be promoted again after being removed on June 14th. In 15 games with the first team, he had a record of 0 wins, 0 losses, 4 hold, and ERA 6.57. "It was great to be able to make the opening day first team, but I made quite a few appearances at the beginning of the season, and I wasn't able to improve from there," he said, revealing his regret.

Still, in 37 games in the Western League, he has 4 wins, 1 loss, 1 save, and a ERA 1.21 record. 28 years old, he is not old yet, and since he has experience as a starter, he says, "My strength is that I can do both (with reliever). I'm going to pitch anywhere, so if I can really work like a cart horse, I have the ability to come back with five or six inning pitches, so I hope I can do my closer way well next year," he said.
