Japan's WBC team members Orix Buffaloes ・ Hiroya Miyagi pitcher and Ryuhei Sotani pitcher pitched their first live BP (live batting practice) on August 8. Both left-handers will join the Samurai Japan training camp from March 14 for the WBC main tournament in March. On the fourth day of the second camp in Miyazaki, they threw 20 pitches in their "first live game" mound in 26 years.

Miyagi, who is participating for the second time since 2013, had a good result with one hit. In the match against Hiranuma, who joined from Seibu Lions in the active player draft, he broke his bat on the first pitch.

Soya, who was making his hit, also showed good progress with zero hits and three strikeouts, making for a good start.
