Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Castro, the first player to come to Japan, made his first Home Run appearance in Japan.

With a one-run lead in the top of the 4th inning, Castro came to bat with two outs runner and no outs. He swung at the first pitch of the opposing Haru Matsumoto pitcher Castro swung at the first pitch of the game and hit a high home run pitch into the left field stands.

Last season, Castro played 133 games in AAA for the Phillies and hit 19 Home Run. In open games, he had a .281 batting average (32 At Bat 9 hit) and 3 Home Run 8 RBI in 11 games, and showed his power in his first starting line-up two at bats.
